The Nesiya summer program is a transformational five week journey through Israel for North American and Israeli high school students from diverse Jewish backgrounds who have completed 10th, 11th or 12th grades. The program combines creative text study, community
service, outdoor adventure in four regions of Israel, as well as arts workshops, developing self-awareness and communication skills that build a caring and trusting community: an ideal microcosm of the Jewish people.
Our participants go home invigorated to make a difference, as change agents who seek to help all individuals: from their family members to their communities and beyond.
“My experience on Nesiya taught me to love all different types of people. It made me dig into difficult places in my soul that I didn’t know existed. It changed how I see the world...This program seemed real, raw, down to earth and NOT tourist-y. It builds a community. Faces the hard questions. Brings together unlikely friends. Explores bigger ideas. Emphasizes emotion. Cares about art.”
